Maurice Joseph Martin
February 4, 1935 – May 2, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maurice Joseph Martin, a lifelong resident of Arnprior, at his home on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the age of 91.
Predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Theresa Pamela Martin (née Burke), Maurice will be remembered as a devoted and loving family man. He was the proud father of Elaine (late Rolly), Craig (Marnie), Calvin (Ursula), and Lee. He was predeceased by his son Terry (Jane) and daughters Gail (Cameron) and Mary. Maurice was a cherished grandfather to Chad, Holly, Dave, Shawn, Chris, Jacob, Autumn, and Ty, and a loving great-grandfather to Colton, Myla, Daisy, and Jack. He is also survived by his dear brother Rolly (Barb) and will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Born to George and Clarisse (Schnob) Martin, Maurice was predeceased by his siblings Lou, Leo, Roger, Rene, Theresa, and Germaine.
A man of determination, strength and deep faith, Maurice served in the Canadian Military for three and a half years and was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #174. He took great pride in his work, serving as a truck driver for Green’s and Sullivan’s for 20 years, later as a Commissionaire, and part-time at Smith’s Dairy.
A dedicated volunteer, he gave more than 20 years of service to the Arnprior Hospital, bringing comfort, happiness, and cheer to patients and staff alike. A lifelong student of the Bible, he shared his strong Christian faith with many during their times of need.
Throughout his life, he was known as a hard-working, dependable, and devoted family man.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior, on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Private Family Interment will follow at Arnprior Malloch Road Cemetery. A reception will be held afterward in the Parish Hall.
In memory of Maurice, donations may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
