The Ontario Landowners Association mourns the loss of Gerald "Gerry" Jette, a long time and exceptional member of the landowner movement in Ontario, who passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, at the age of 79.
Gerry was there in the early days of the landowners. Serving in many capacities where he could be most helpful. He hung his hat locally with the Carleton Landowners Association chapter as a tireless defender of property rights across Eastern Ontario.
His commitment to the cause was not performative, it was deeply personal. He believed that ordinary people had the right to be left alone on their own land, and he backed that belief with years of quiet, steady, dependable service.
On behalf of the Ontario Landowners Association, I extend our deepest condolences to Gail, Elaine, Paul, and the entire Jette family. Gerry's contribution to the landowner movement will not be forgotten.
He was larger than life, and his absence will be felt by many.
