Andrew Dalton Hein

April 23, 1934 – February 17, 2026

It is with sad hearts we share that Andrew “Dalton” Hein went to eternal sleep on February 17, 2026 in Kingston Ontario, surrounded by his family. Dalton was born on the Hein farm in Lyndoch Twsp on April 23, 1934.

Dalton left us to join his Lord, his parents Joseph and Erma Hein and parents-in-law Reginald and Amelia Worby. He leaves behind his daughters: Roxanne (Chris), Delphine (Brent), Brenda (Darrin) and their mother Phyllis. Son-in-law James (Jim) Huyer.

Dalton is survived by his siblings Ellis (Ruth), Melbourne, Verna and brother-in-law Richard Barr. He joins his siblings Phyllis (+Don), Milton (+Rita), Diane, Wayne (+Marianne), and sisters-in-law Ellen and Victoria Worby.

Dalton was a cherished grandfather to: Michelle (Matt), Joshua (Kayla), Amanda (Robert), Jessica (Ben), Kyleigh (Ian) and bonus grandchildren Brianna Roberts (Darcy), Justin and Zack (Katie) Hamilton. Dalton has 4 great-grand-children: Mackenzie (Michelle), Mason and Madison (Joshua) and Cooper (Kyleigh).

Dalton will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, their families and his many friends.

Dalton spent most of his life in Renfrew County. He spent time in and around Kinburn, Ontario when his parents moved the family there when Dalton was still young.

Dalton owned and operated a barbershop in Smiths Falls; he spent many years as a barber for Bolger’s Barber Shop on the main street in Renfrew. Dalton worked for Magline of Canada Ltd and Polyfibre, in Renfrrew. Dalton was an experienced bulldozer, backhoe and grader operator. In April 1980 he became the Road Superintendent in Horton Township; until his retirement.

Dalton was a self taught guitar player and a lover of old country and bluegrass music. Dalton served as the President of the Renfrew County Fiddlers. He spent many years, as a volunteer, putting on music at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital, Groves Park Lodge and the Renfrew Bonnechere Manor. He put on music fundraisers at the Renfrew Baptist Church and he played at many festivals around the area. He was also an active member of Valley Heritage Radio and the Renfrew Fish and Games Club; he loved hunting and fishing.

Dalton’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd, 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Visitation will be held Thursday evening February 26, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Friday February 27, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service in the Boyce Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Reception to follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. A private family interment will happen in the spring at Rosebank Cemetery, Haley Station.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Valley Heritage Radio (CJHR 98.7FM) in Renfrew; in Dalton’s honour, would be greatly appreciated.
