I want to share my interaction with George. I being a street vendor i had the opportunity to interact with George almost daily. I always looked forward to his visit because i knew that the next hour or so would be enlightening. After maybe an hour or so he would depart after we solved the troubles of the world and of to work. I am glad to see all of the beautiful tributes he is receiving and they are so well deserved. I think that the conversations in valley went silent when it was announced that you would be on the Green line and they did not want to miss your comments. Some say he was eccentric, yes but if it's because he chose to pick up discarded litter left by some pedestrian he chose to make Arnprior presentable at no cost the anyone then i am all for cloning eccentric. George was in so many of behind the scenes activities both with physical support along with personal financial events never looking for any personal recognition. George when I heard the sad news that you had departed ,my first reaction was to watch the sky for the entrails being left by your speedy flight to your star in the universe where you will forever be able to look down at the town you adopted and became Arnprior's guiding example of commitment to you friends, neighbor's and town .As others have stated the town of Arnprior owe him some form of gratitude. George till we meet again may your light never go dim. Your friend .Ed

I was so saddened to hear of George's passing on our radio station announcement at 580 CFRA this morning. I believe I speak for a monumental number of listeners of how we all, eagerly awaited to hear George's latest news, and keeping those in Ottawa and surrounding areas in the know, of how he was doing and the latest events or activities. George was an absolute delight to listen to. A voice of pure kindness that a person could feel over the radio. I can only imagine the mark he left on those who were fortunate enough to know him personally. I hope that a statue or a plaque is erected in his honor. I cannot think of anybody more fitting to have a monument placed in his name, as he was most definitely, a true part of that beautiful town and a part of everybody who resided there. My deep condolences to his family and all who knew him. Thank you, George, for making the world so much brighter and positive. You will most definitely be missed. Rest In Peace, Sir.

So sorry to hear of the passing of MR. ARNPRIOR. I knew George since school days and often had chats on John Street about this great town. During my local political career he was consistent with his advice and never was shy to share his opinion when it differed. His commitment to this town out measures many, sought no recognition and did not receive enough. Just a GOOD MAN.

George was "The Town of Arnprior's" Ambassador for a number of years. To this end he was awarded the Town Volunteer of the Year. Visitors who made it to the downtown area were sure to meet George who welcomed them and offered them all kinds of information. George was one of a kind in our town. May he RIP. Thank you George.

Honest, hard-working, charitable.
We all wish at the end we could be remembered this way.
But when you add unique, informed and fearless you get to a place almost none of us aspire to.
Well done, George
In the game of Life, you won.
All our best... Pete & Sam

My condolences to his his brother. I worked with George at Canadian Tire for 5 years. My fondest memory of him was when I dropped a can of paint on my toe. After I returned to work from being at the hospital George had set up a chair and a place to put my leg up on while I was at work. He has such a kind and generous heart.

George was a true gift to Arnprior. I always saw him around cleaning up the Town, then at the SALC which he attended regularly, followed by his visits to the Arnprior Public Library. Later he would appear at the original Men's Shed on Nieman Road. He was a true intellectual, a friendly man who will be missed by many.
