Obituary of Robert "Bob" Tripp
Robert George TRIPP
(Bob)
1949-2025
With deep sadness and great gratitude for a life well lived, the family announces the passing of Bob Tripp on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the age of 76 years. Bob is predeceased by his beloved parents Mervyn and Emily (nee Davis) Tripp. Bob leaves behind his best friend and wife of thirty-five years, Jackie Bradley-Tripp. Loving father of Rob (Kelly) and Sarah (Jean) Tripp, Carolyn Jones (Howie), Kathy Bradley and Levi Bradley. Proud grandpa of Dylan (Charleigh) and Lachlan Tripp, Meadow Belanger, Cassie Jones, Tori Boyer (Randy), Alex Bradley and Luc Paquette. The oldest of four, Bob is survived by his brothers Dave (Joan O’Connell) and Bill (Marilyn Barr), and his sister Janice (Art Goldsmith). Bob will be remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews and great-niece and great-nephews.
Bob was born on January 1, 1949. After graduating from ADHS, he studied civil engineering at Algonquin College and then worked in northern Ontario in the mining industry for INCO. He returned to Fitzroy township as the fifth generation of Tripps to run the family dairy farm - one of his great passions - at Parkland Farm where his children Rob and Sarah were raised.
After farming, he worked for Annis O’Sullivan Vollebekk Ltd., a land survey company in the Ottawa area. Always good with numbers, Bob turned to accounting and bookkeeping, eventually working as an auditor for the federal government. Bob belonged to the Madawaska Lodge 196 in Arnprior.
Bob and Jackie enjoyed each other's company while travelling and spending time with family and friends. Together, they enjoyed taking Bob’s parents on local trips visiting relatives, learning about new dairy innovations and operations, or just observing how the ff’s (farmers’ fields) were doing. These drives usually ended up at the Dairy Queen. Visiting fairs, such as the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto, and the Carp Fair were favourites. Bob and Jackie travelled to Europe on a cruise, visited Hawaii, and for his 70th birthday, they went to Pasadena, California, to see the Rose Bowl Parade - conveniently held every year on his birthday.
Sports were a huge part of Bob’s life. He played both hockey and softball throughout his life right up to this past summer and this winter. In addition to playing, he coached, managed and helped out as he could. He supported his professional teams and was on top of all the stats when it came to the Ottawa Senators, the Boston Red Sox, the Ottawa Rough Riders/Renegades/Redblacks, and the New England Patriots.
He loved being with family and friends and spent many happy times at special occasions or just hanging out. Lending a helping hand to a family member or friend meant spending time together. Bob was generous with his time for all of his friends and family. His knowledge, his teasing and his sense of humour will be missed. He took his responsibility as the oldest of his clan seriously, often counselling his younger family members to take their problems in stride - one day at a time, and sometimes, one hour at a time.
Bob’s final care has been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior, Ontario. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm; and Saturday, January 10 from 9:30-11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life service in the Boyce Chapel at 11:00 am. A reception will follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. A Spring interment will take place at St. George’s Cemetery, Fitzroy Harbour.
