Obituary of James "Jim" Guillmette

James “Jim” Guillmette

Former employee, Boeing Canada (Arnprior)

(July 28, 1931 – December 28, 2025)

With deep sadness, our family announces the passing of James “Jim” Guillmette on Sunday December 28th, 2025 at the remarkable age of 94. Jim leaves behind the love of his life, Carole (Lewis), his devoted wife of 72 wonderful years. He was the proud father of Brian and Lynn (Rick), and a cherished grandfather to Brent and Kurtis.

Born to the late George Guillmette and Margaret (McEwen), Jim is survived by his brother Doug and sister-in-law Eunice, his brother-in-law Len Spinks, and sister-in-law Sylvia. He is predeceased by his five sisters—Betty, Iris, Gladys, Muriel, and Blanche—and his two brothers, Donald and John. Jim was a gifted and passionate carpenter who never turned down a project and always embraced a challenge. He treasured time spent with family and friends and loved to travel—especially to the sunny south in the winter with close friends.

A man of strong faith, Jim was deeply committed to serving his church community and was a long-standing steward of Grace St. Andrew’s United Church. He was also immensely proud of his involvement in the Masonic Orders, where he formed many lifelong friendships. Jim was a dedicated member of Madawaska Lodge, the Dochart Chapter of the York Rite, and a proud and active Tunis Shriner.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nursing and care staff of Arnprior Regional Health, as well as the compassionate teams at the Arnprior Villa and the Arnprior Grove, for their exceptional care and kindness.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., Daniel Street North, Arnprior. In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation, and a private interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, and in honour of Jim’s lifelong commitment to helping others, the family encourages donations to a charity of your choice.
