Obituary of Blythe Smith
Blythe Nora Smith
September 13, 1928 – December 20, 2025
It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Blythe Nora Smith a lifelong resident of Pakenham, at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Saturday, December 20, 2025. She lived a vibrant life to the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late Lorne Smith (2003). Loving mother of Gary (Darlene) of Rainy River, Ron (Iris) of Almonte, Sandy Robertson (Will) of Dunrobin and Cathy Smith Belisle (Jacques) of Chelsea, P.Q. Cherished grandmother of Jason, Karen, Al (Angie), Ashley, Tricia (Tyler), Stacey, Brad (Stephanie), Lysanne (Alex), and great-grandmother of Carson, Chloe, Sophia, Sonja, Cody, Kelsey, Rosalie, Logan, Gavin, Griffin, Garett, and Liam. Dear sister of Iva Campbell (late Ross) of Arnprior. Predeceased by her sisters Beulah Bowers (late Garfield), Doris Pelton (late Ted), and Ina Ross (late Bill). She will be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
Blythe remained active throughout her life, balancing homemaking with various roles, including partnership of the Centennial Restaurant with Marion Barr and working at Canada Post, both in Pakenham. She was a devoted member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church ACW in Pakenham and actively participated in the Pakenham Recreation Association. Blythe excelled in handiwork, creating beautiful pieces through knitting, quilting, crafting, folk art, painting, and needlework. A gentle and beautiful soul has now found eternal rest. Her warm, ever-present smile will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew her.
Blythe’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior, where visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and again Sunday morning, December 28, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service in the Boyce Chapel at 12:00 Noon. A reception will follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. Spring interment will take place at St. Mark’s Anglican Cemetery, Pakenham.
In memoriam donations may be made to St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Pakenham or to the Parkinson Society.
