Obituary of Patricia "Pat" Fraser

Patricia Ann Fraser

(nee Burnett)

August 20, 1941 – November 22, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Ann Fraser share the news of her passing on November 22nd, 2025 at the age of 84. She will forever rest in the hearts of a family that loved her dearly: Douglas, her husband of 59 years, children Susan (Chris Keith), Nancy (Michael McCann), and Robert (Janyne), and cherished grandchildren Ellie, Gillian, Ewan, Duncan, Thomas and Alice. Pat is also lovingly survived by her sister Eleanor (Paul Pencharz), brother Bill (Maureen), sister-in-law Janet, brother-in-law Terry and her many nieces and nephews.

Pat was born in Toronto in 1941 to Alice and Art Burnett, but grew up in Beachburg. She began her teaching career at Highview Public School in nearby Pembroke where, on her first visit to her new classroom, she caught the eye of a fellow from Mariatown who had found his way to the Ottawa Valley to teach. They married, started a family and moved to Arnprior, where she nurtured with endless patience and kindness not only her children, but countless kindergarten students from Walter Zadow and McNab Public Schools. Pat’s devotion to her family, friends and community was endless - whether it was ferrying her kids to the arena, piecing together another figure skating costume, planning the next gathering, or delivering Meals on Wheels, she did so effortlessly and without complaint.

For 35 years, Pat faced the many challenges brought by multiple sclerosis with such grace and strength that it inspired all those who knew her. Throughout, she lived a life of gratitude for the many blessings she had, finding enormous joy in watching her grandchildren grow, who in turn felt the warmth she exuded with every visit. Grandma made sure that everyone knew how proud she was of all their accomplishments - big and small. She always knew which favorite foods would be appreciated and was the heart of the kitchen as meals were planned and prepared.

With every act of kindness and every moment of grace, Patricia brought a light to the world that will live on in those who loved her.

The family wish to express their deepest gratitude to Pat’s closest caregivers - Dorothy Babcock, Cindy Burns, and Diane Kemp - for the support, friendship, and joy they brought to her life.

Patricia’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
