Black, Kenneth Owen

August 27, 1944 - November 5, 2025

Ken departed on his final flight on Wednesday morning, November 5, 2025 at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital in the presence of his family after over a year of cancer treatment. He was in his 82nd year. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen (Bingham). Proud Dad of Stephen and Robert (Deanna) and doting Grandpa of Keegan, William and Alexis.

Also survived by his sister Gail Manson, sister-in-law Isabel Wisking (John) and brother-in-law Jack Bingham. Predeceased by his parents Owen and Verna (Twa) Black and devastated by the sudden loss of his younger brother Dennis in Oct. 2022. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews.

After retirement with over 30 years service as a technician with Bell Canada Ken took on many diverse and interesting roles from aviator to handyman to funeral home assistant. With the onset of health challenges, he finally hung up his tool belt in the spring of 2024.

Visitation will take place at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior Sunday November 9, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. only. Funeral Service will be held Monday November 10, 2025 in the Boyce Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. Private family interment at Sand Point Public Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Arnprior or to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
