Obituary of Colin Craig
Colin Edgar Craig
June 28, 1930 – October 9, 2025
With shock and sadness, but with deep gratitude that he lived a very long and healthy life to the end, Colin passed peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital only six days after Shirley.
A devoted 35-year employee with Boeing of Canada, he cherished as many years in retirement as he had dedicated to his work, filling them with passions that defined him, above all, his love for hunting and fishing. He served as a dedicated member of the Arnprior Fish and Game Club, teaching the Hunter Safety Course to many young people over the years. As the last founding member of his beloved Maple Ridge Hunt Camp, he continued hunting for nearly 75 years, right up to the age of 90.
Beloved husband of the late Shirley Craig. Loving dad of Kim Davis (Jeff) of Bracebridge and Erin Yamazaki (Jason) of Ottawa. Cherished grandpa of Bailey, Hannah, Adrian, and Addison. The oldest of four, he was predeceased by siblings Baunie and Hazel, and is survived by his youngest brother, Ray. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Thomas Harvey and Lila May Craig (Hyatt).
Special thanks to the County of Renfrew Paramedic Service for their compassionate support and care and their kindness during home visits. Gratitude also extends to the Arnprior Hospital Staff, especially to Dr. Woods, Dr. Becker and the nurses of the inpatient ward.
Colin’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Cremation to take place. Donations may be made in Colin’s memory to the County of Renfrew Paramedic Service.
As Colin would say, “Don’t take any wooden nickels.”
