Obituary of Yvette Carr

Yvette Marie Rose Carr (nee Couvieau)

September 6, 1925 – October 7, 2025

It is with heavy hearts, yet profound gratitude for a life of grace and fulfillment, that we announce the peaceful passing of Yvette Carr, surrounded by her loving family at Groves Park Lodge in Renfrew on Tuesday morning, October 7, 2025. Just one month prior, she had joyfully celebrated her 100th birthday.

Beloved wife of the late Grant Carr. Proud and devoted mother of Faye Reitsma (Anton), June Toner, Bonnie Laventure (late Dave), Lynne Briscoe (Doug), and Doug Carr (Faye). Cherished grandmother of Chad Reitsma (Kristy Anne), Tyler Reitsma (Katelyn), Shelley Potter (Ralph), Chris Toner (Vicki), Samm Toner, Kerri Laventure (Mike), Kendra Laventure, Raegan Young (Sam), and Casey Carr (Natalie) and great-grandmother to Dakota, Zoey, Saorise, Dafne, Brandon, Noah, Michael, David, Andrew, Cale, Logan, Gabrielle, Dylan, Abby, Emma, and Violet. Great-great-grandmother to Paisley, Georgia, Mila, Braxton, and the soon-to-arrive baby, Riggs. Born to Elzear and Emma (Desjardins) Couvieau, Yvette was the last surviving member to her original family, predeceased by her siblings: Theresa Mosseau (late Oswald), Dolores Mosseau (Earl), Johnny Couvieau (late Lea), Leo Couvieau, Hermidas (late Isabel), and Julia Habecker (late Rudolph). She will be deeply missed by countless nieces and nephews.

Yvette retired from BASF after a career marked by dedication and poise. Her unwavering faith anchored her spirit, finding deep expression in the Emmanuel Anglican Church of Arnprior, where she actively served alongside the church women. A volunteer with the Arnprior Hospital Auxiliary, she poured her energy into the Opportunity Shop, managing schedules and fostering community bonds. Yvette's hands were ever busy with the quiet arts of knitting, baking, and sewing—gifts that wove threads of love through her home. Above all, she reveled in her family, infusing every gathering with laughter, stories, and the simple joys shared with her children and lifelong friends.

The family extend their deepest thanks to the compassionate angels at Groves Park Lodge for their tender care, which allowed Yvette's final days to unfold with such dignity and peace.

Yvette’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday October 15, 2025 until the time of the funeral service in the Boyce Chapel at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. Private family interment at Arnprior Malloch Road Cemetery.

Memorial donations to Groves Park Lodge in Renfrew would honor Yvette's compassionate spirit.
