Obituary of Shirley Craig
Shirley Jean Craig
July 3, 1937 – October 3, 2025
It’s with heavy hearts that we share the news of Shirley’s passing on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital at the age of 88. Beloved wife of Colin Craig. Loving mom of Kim Davis (Jeff) of Bracebridge and Erin Yamazaki (Jason) of Ottawa. Cherished nanny of Bailey, Hannah, Adrian and Addison. Dear sister of William “Bill” Walker of White Lake and Bev Rancourt of Arnprior. Predeceased by sister Mary Jones and survived by many nieces and nephews. Dear cousin to Donna McFarlane (late John) and beloved friend of Sally Mather. Daughter of the late William and Dora (Scheel) Walker.
Shirley had a heart for others -- always putting everyone else first. Her home was a warm haven; she’d greet everyone with open arms and always invite you to “make yourself at home”. Shirley always enjoyed sharing a cup of tea and having a good laugh around the kitchen table. She gave back through volunteering at The Opportunity Shop with the Arnprior Hospital Auxiliary and in the kitchen at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.
A huge thank you to the County of Renfrew Paramedic Service for their compassionate care, helping Shirley and Colin stay comfortably at home for as long as they could. The support they provided meant the world to both of them and we’re grateful beyond words. Thank you also to the kind-hearted staff at The Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital who cared for Shirley in her last days.
Shirley’s arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Cremation to take place.
In Shirley’s memory, donations to the County of Renfrew Paramedic Service would be deeply appreciated.
