Obituary of Kathleen "Kathy" Pirie
Kathleen Mary "Kathy" Pirie
(nee Lindsay)
January 24th, 1956 – October 3rd, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Kathleen Mary "Kathy" Pirie, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, in the early morning hours of Friday October 3rd, 2025, at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital, with her husband and daughter by her side. She was 69. Kathy was the steadfast rock of her family, forever placing the needs of others before her own. The heart of her world was the farm, where she poured her boundless love into caring for her cherished creatures.
For 37 fulfilling years, she shared her life with her husband, Gaye, a true partner in every sense. Together, they nurtured a successful business, reeled in victories at fishing tournaments, and tended their land with harmony. Theirs was a great life, built on deep companionship and shared adventures.
Loving and devoted mother of Melissa and her husband Curtis.
As a cherished grandmother, Kathy shared an unbreakable bond with her granddaughter, Rue-a kindred pair who delighted in days spent doing chores and shopping together. In Rue's tender words: "She was a kind person who cares about animals and the people that love her.”
Survived by her sister, June (Dan) of Eganville and brother, Doug (Sonia) of Arnprior; her brother-in-law, Andy (Laura); and her sister-in-law, Sue, both of Arnprior. She will be deeply missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother, Marilyn (nee Dawson); her father, James Lindsay; her youngest brother, William; and her sister-in-law, Heather.
Kathy’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning. The Funeral Service will follow in the Boyce Chapel on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. A private family interment will take place at Goshen Cemetery, Renfrew, at a later date. In memory of Kathy, donations may be made the Arnprior and District Humane Society.
