With heavy hearts, we share the news of the untimely passing of Dr. Richard MacLaren at Carefor Hospice Cornwall on Tuesday July 29, 2025, at the age of 63. A brilliant mind with a PhD from the University of Toronto, Richard is the long-time partner of Cynthia Newman, and beloved son of the late Elwin and Norma (Neault) MacLaren. He leaves behind his cherished brothers, Robert (Nives) of Renfrew and Gordon (Heidi) of Oshawa, along with his adored nieces: Margaret, Sarah (Hugh), and Rebecca (Eric). Rick cherished driving his car-embracing the open road with unbridled passion, freedom, and a sense of adventure. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rick's life at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. followed by a service in the Boyce Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. Interment Castleford Union Cemetery.
