Obituary of Thomas "Ted" "Terry" Gardner

October 12, 1939 – July 25, 2025

Thomas Walter Gardner, warmly remembered by family and friends as Thomas, Ted, or Terry, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, July 25, 2025, at the age of 85, at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital. He was the cherished and devoted husband of Linda Gardner (nee Hall), with whom he shared countless joyful years. Loving father to Tom Gardner (Emily) of Bracebridge, Matthew Gardner (Jennifer Gillan) of Pakenham, David Lancaster of Toronto, Christina Lancaster of Saint John, NB, and Sean Rikley-Lancaster (Michael) of Pakenham. And family friend Joey Georgekish of Montreal. Adoring grandfather to Coleton, Tom (Emelia), Jaxon, Ella, Grace, and Charlie and great-grandfather to Annabelle. Dear brother of Ken Gardner (Francine Seguin) of Ottawa. Thomas was predeceased by his beloved daughter Sharon, as well as his siblings Shirley Parks, Carole Ryan (late William), and Donald Gardner (late Claudette). He was the son of the late Thomas and Marguerite (Graydon) Gardner. He will be missed by his loving canine companion Henry. In his professional life, Thomas retired from Praxair as a respected district sales manager, where his expertise and commitment left a lasting impact—including the installation of a large oxygen tank at Arnprior Hospital, a contribution that benefited the community he cared for deeply. Beyond his career, Thomas was known for his kind spirit, his passion for family gatherings, and his ability to bring people together with his gentle humour and wisdom. Thomas’ arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. A celebration of his remarkable life will be held Sunday September 14, 2025 at the Sand Point Golf and Country Club, 38 Golf Club Rd., Braeside, Ontario from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. In memory of Thomas, donations may be made to CHEO.
