Helen Jean Johnstone

June 19, 1930 – June 17, 2025

Helen Jean Johnstone passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, June 17, 2025, at the Grove Long Term Care in Arnprior, just two days shy of her 95th birthday, surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Johnstone and a devoted mother to the late Tom Jr. (Pauline), Laurie Ann Forbes, Cameron Johnstone (Colleen), Robert Johnstone (Sally), and David Johnstone (Cindy). She was a cherished grandmother to Jamie, Andrew, Colin, Gavin, Ross, Shannon, Daniel, and Rory, and a proud great-grandmother to Maggie and Noah. Helen was also a dear sister to the late John Esdon (Allison) and the daughter of the late Robert and Isabel (McGregor) Esdon.

In her early years, Helen was a dedicated teacher before choosing to stay home to raise her family, which was the heart of her life. Her love and commitment to her family were unwavering, and she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion.

A special thank you to the staff at the Grove Long Term Care, particularly the caregivers of the Pine unit, for their exceptional care and compassion. Helen’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Interment will be held at Pinecrest Cemetery, Ottawa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation in Helen’s memory.
