With heavy hearts, the family announces the peaceful passing of their beloved matriarch. Ruth Mary McCue at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital with family by her side, on Thursday May 15 at the age of 83. Ruth was the devoted wife of nearly 60 years to Fred McCue, proud loving mother to Brenda Murdoch (late Wade), Mark (Michelle) Brent (Carolyn). She cherished her role as Grandma to Ryan, Grace, Campbell and Duncan. Ruth was a dear Sister to Lawrence (Yvette), Melba Wilson (late Boyd), Carol Warren, and Gail Cunningham (late Ron). Sister-in-law to Don McCue (late Anna) and Dick McCue (Mary Ellen). Ruth will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her brother Raymond and Melvin Blimkie, brother in law Jim McCue and sisters-in-law Diane Boudreau (late Clem) and Claudette Loubert (Richard). Daughter of the late Patrick and Clare (Sholea) Blimkie. A dedicated Registered Nurse, Ruth worked with the utmost compassion and care for her patients at the Arnprior District Memorial Hospital, mainly in the maternity ward and finishing out her career at the Arnprior Grove Nursing Home, Long Term Care. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life, as she was the heart of the family delighting in holiday gatherings, especially Christmas. Ruth’s talent through crocheting and gifting special pieces to family will always be treasured. Ruth enjoyed a good game of Bingo, especially with her friend Joyce. Her deep love for animals, showed in the care of her pets, and her deep compassion for animal welfare. A special thank you to Dr. Cathy Greenough for her outstanding care of Mom. Ruth’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home, 138 Daniel Street N, Arnprior. As per Ruth’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Arnprior and District Humane Society.
