Obituary of Lorna Kelly
(nee Douglas)
October 9, 1933 – April 4, 2025
Our hearts are saddened to announce that our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lorna Kelly passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Friday April 4, 2025 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Olin Kelly (1991). Loving mother of Jim Kelly (Susan) of Pickering, Marjorie Kelly of Arnprior, Margie Burman (Ian) of Kinburn and Patty Poirier (John) of Arnprior. Cherished grandmother of Kelly-Ann (Chris), Trina (Nick), Laura, Meggan, Melanie (Cameron), Lyndsay (Chris) and Jonathan (Brooke). Great-grandmother of Ava, Lia, Russell, Gabriela, Evangeline and Wyatt. The last of the Douglas clan she is predeceased by her siblings Margaret Stuckey (late Bob), Eileen Pennock (late Eldon), Erin Craig (Jack), Ollie Douglas, Jack Douglas (Phyllis), Heather Cavanagh (Delmer). She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Lorna was born in Carp, Ontario to the late James and Nora (Mullin) Douglas. Special thanks to the nursing staff at the Arnprior Hospital for their compassionate care, special thanks to Dr. Gordon for his many years of care, to Dr. Cathy Greenough, to the Renfrew County Paramedic Program for their in-home care, and to Ashley from Paramed homecare. Lorna’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior where visitation will be held Thursday April 10, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Friday. The funeral service will be held Friday April 11, 2025 in the Boyce Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. Spring interment will be held at Whyte’s Cemetery, Fitzroy Harbour where Lorna will be laid to rest with her beloved Olin, where they can cheer on their Habs together again. In memory of Lorna, donations may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation, the Grove Long Term Care.
