Obituary of Doris Glenn

Doris Geraldine Glenn

(nee McCrea)

April 17, 1929 – March 17, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family announce that our family matriarch, Doris went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday March 17, 2025. Doris Glenn, a resident of the Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Donald Wesley Glenn (2001). Proud and loving mother of Robert “Bob” Glenn and cherished grandmother of Jennifer and Stephanie Glenn and Great-Gramma of Nate, Zach, Selena, Fiona, Parker and Ava. Doris will be dearly missed by her sister-in-law Barbara Glenn (late Ken) and brother-in-law John Glenn (Anne). She was predeceased by her brother Ellwood McCrea (late Mary) and sisters Lola Schlievert (late Herman) and Phyllis McCrea (late Emily Paynter), as well as sisters-in-law Jean Stevenson (late George) and Doris Cotnam (late Woodrow). She held a special place in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, and those who affectionately knew her as Aunt Dory. A special mention goes to her canine friend, Teddy. Doris was the cherished daughter of the late Ellard and Elsie (Headrick) McCrea.

A faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, Doris took great joy in her involvement with the congregation, though she preferred to contribute quietly, away from the spotlight. Her commitment to her community shone through her volunteer work at the hospital and various local efforts, always finding fulfillment in supporting others from behind the scenes. Above all, Doris cherished her family, expressing constant gratitude for the love and kindness shown to her throughout her life.
