Obituary of Wayne Nash

Please share a memory of Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Wayne Nash 1947 – 2018

At the ripe young age of 71, after many years of making people happy and keeping people laughing, Wayne joined his beloved Shirley in heaven.

He wasn’t tired of life at all, he was full of life. He was never too tired for the disability he battled, from the young age of 21 until age 71. He was a true Warrior.

But, God along with Wayne have their own plans. The plan was clear, it allowed Wayne to finish doing what he needed to do here on Earth and then to be with the love of his life once again. We’re fairly certain the 1st thing on Wayne’s list of things to do is to renew their wedding vows now they are back together. It would be his vision and wish of all dreams. He loved life, he loved animals, loved all his family but he loved Shirley the most. It was no secret.

Go figure, he has it all set-up. He has his bride Shirley, his Brother In Law Ron for his MC, his Sisters June and Jackie for flowergirls, his Sister Audrey as Cake Maker, his Best Man Jimmy and Brother In Laws Frank and Dave as Ushers.
And, his parents Thelma and Charles would also be there to celebrate and to watch how their son is welcomed, wanted and needed in that place they call heaven. Here on Earth, his surviving Sister Franki host the Party.

In his younger days, Wayne served in the Navy and was a proud Member of the Local Legion here in Arnprior, Ontario. Both himself and Shirley were dedicated to helping those less fortunate and very active through the years with the Legion. They were a pair who cooked Christmas dinner for those less fortunate year after year, putting their own needs behind those of others. A match made in Heaven, dedicated to the people and animals they shared in their life.

Wayne also worked locally for the SPCA as an Inspector, looking out for animals. Given the opportunity, he would have brought them all home. But, home was already a full house as himself and Shirley made a wonderful home and refuge for those pets lucky enough to share in their life. They’ll all be waiting at the gates of heaven.

A very special thank-you to Heather who Wayne entrusted with his beloved pet Rockie still here on earth. And to all of the other Earth Angels who helped to care for Wayne in his time here, you know who you are and you are many. From the bottom of our hearts; thank-you for sharing in his ups, his downs and his in betweens Wayne leaves behind a very large family (too many to name) and along with that many, many, fun laughable memories. We hope that when you speak of him, you too will laugh at his antics and remember him as a Man who cared, one of a kind.

At the Family Request, in lieu of flowers, should you wish to make a donation, please support The Arnprior and District Humane Society or your Local SPCA with a donation on Wayne and Shirley's behalf; a wedding gift. They would love that.

A Celebration of Wayne's Life will be held at The Arnprior Legion at a later date.
