Doug and I were good friends for 47 years. Wherever we went, whatever we did, it was filled with laughter. When we each got married, we carried on with our own lives. Whenever I crossed paths with him and we struck up a conversation it was like we never missed a beat. I was devastated when I learned of Doug’s death earlier this week. I so wanted to attend the wake and funeral but I have been battling health issues for well over seven years and knew that I would be unable to attend. I may not have been there in body, but I was there in spirit and thinking of Doug along with his wife Kerry, their children, grandchildren. Doug may be gone but through his family his legacy will live on and he will always be in my heart. Offering my deepest condolences, Paula Lavigne Ferrier

An amazing man. Had a heart of gold, and always put his family first. Any memory I have with him, is filled with laughter and friendship. He was a wise man, that always made anyone feel welcome when they walked through the door. My greatest condolences to the family.
